Charlie Lewin

Hey, I’m Charlie! I’m a Melbourne-based comedian, theatre-maker and Nicole Kidman body double. I’m known for my great legs and my uniquely theatrical, irreverent style of comedy. My work is camp and sincere, blending a background in theatre with elements of improv, sketch and musical comedy.

I’ve been described as a “rising star of stand-up” who “commands the stage like a Broadway theatre” (The Music). In 2021 I won the Best Newcomer award for my solo debut 'Cockatiel' at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival. As well as being a proficient standup and MC, I’m also a trained actor, improviser & cabaret artist. I can sing, act, host & improvise — just please don’t ask me to dance!

As a writer, I’m available for play or screenwriting, online copy and script consulting. I have a double major in scriptwriting and English literature, and I am proficient at writing across different forms including musical theatre, literary essays, sketch comedy and drama. With a Bachelor’s degree in Performing Arts and a wealth of experience in adapting & directing shows, I also work professionally as a dramaturge and director for both comedic and dramatic shows.

Lastly, as a designer, I am proficient at sound editing for podcasts and stage design, as well as filming and editing videos for YouTube/streaming/live productions.
