Roxanne Halley

I’m a Melbourne-based actor and director with over 8 years professional experience in the film, TV and theatre industries in Australia and Asia. As a trained improviser, I have been performing with The Improv Conspiracy Theatre since 2016. I’ve also directed and performed in the sell-out improvised shows ‘Victorian Avant-Garde Artists Society’ and ‘An Improvised Lesson in History’ at the 2018 and 2022 Melbourne International Comedy Festivals.

As a writer and director, I specialise in comedy and using improvisation with both professionals and non-actors to create honest and engaging stories. My short films have screened at the Cannes Film Festival, St Kilda Film Festival, Made in Melbourne and the Environmental Film Festival Australia, and my commercial clients include Nimble, Beyond Blue, KidSafe, Somersby, Qantas, Medibank and Cricket Australia.

In 2018, I completed a Commercial Director’s Attachment at Sweetshop Melbourne through Film Victoria and Australian Director’s Guild “Gender Matters” program. Through this placement, I filmed and directed a short documentary for Snowdome Foundation, which contributed to them raising over 1 million dollars for blood cancer treatments. I then went on to work in the Sweetshop Bangkok office, creating connections in the commercial industry across the region.
