Matt Young

Matt Young is a writer and performer from Tasmania. He started doing stand-up in 2014, moved to Melbourne in 2015, began studying improv in 2016, and now it's 2022. In the meantime he's written for zines, essay collections, and news satire programs, produced podcasts, live sketch shows, and online content, toured from coast to coast as half of Cool & Smart (with Barney Pollock), and worked as a bookseller, teacher's aide, and telemarketer of dubious morality.

Matt is a member of The Improv Conspiracy Theatre's performing ensemble and teaching staff, where he was nominated in 2021 for the community's "Most Excellent Workshop Instructor" award. If permitted, he will chew your ear off about his improv philosophy for much longer than you will care to listen.
